Last week, we packed up and visited our second foreign country this year! Considering I am 35 years old, and I had never left the United States before this summer, this is pretty amazing stuff! This time we headed about 5 hours north to Canada. We visited Niagara Falls, ON and had some super fun adventures that absolutely made the trip even more incredible for us. Not one of us could decide which adventure was our favorite.
4 must-do Niagara Falls Adventures
Before I dive into the adventures, I have to tell you that this post was sponsored by Niagara Parks, but all opinions are completely my own.
Niagara Parks offers Adventure Day Passes which are totally reasonable in pricing. You are able to choose what level of pass you feel will fit your family, and based on that you are offered more or less adventures, and can choose the package that best suits your families interests. We all had the classic Adventure Day passes. It was perfect for our family and was enjoyable for everyone regardless of their ages. It also included a 48 hour wego pass which is bus pass that transported us from our KOA (more of the awesomeness of that coming soon!) to all of our adventures for our entire stay!
- Ride the Hornblower. Seriously, we hopped off the wego on our first day, and I was in awe of the falls. I really didn’t think I could be any more amazed than I already was. The we got on the Hornblower which is a boat that drives right past the American Falls, and then into Horseshoe Falls. Crazy amazing, and right then and there, we decided there was no other way to appreciate the falls than this. We were all handed our ponchos, thank goodness because we would have been DRENCHED, hopped on that boat, and “oohhed and ahhed” our little heads off.
- Take the Journey Behind the Falls. We could not get over the fact that there were actually tunnels built to get you behind and right beside the falls. Amazing! From the moment you step off the elevator you can feel the ground shaking and hear the falls.
- Go experience Niagara’s Fury. We kept calling this a movie, until one couple who we had asked for directions said it was more of an “experience” than a movie. It’s basically a 4D movie that teaches you all about how the falls came to be. Every single one of us had a blast experiencing this— even the 2 year old! Thunder booms, snow falls, the ground shakes, so, so cool! (You’re not allowed to take pictures so this was all I got).
- Go for a White water walk. This was the last adventure we took. We actually did 3 of these in one day. Everyone was tired, and ready to get back to the campground. I worried that we would regret bothering with this one, but we decided to give it a try. I am so glad we did. I cannot get over how beautiful the water is. Class 6 rapids, and a boardwalk to walk right next to them. The walk is about 1/2 a mile. You can spend as long as you like on the walk, since it is a self-guided tour.
All of these 4 adventures were included in our classic adventure day pass. If you’re going to make the trip to Niagara Falls, ON I would absolutely recommend you get an adventure day pass!! It practically pays for itself with the wego pass. Parking at the Falls is pretty expensive, and there is a lot of walking once you get there.
